Westbury Heritage Society was formed by a group of people intent on preserving the town’s heritage for future generations.
While the society has been without a centre for a number of years our collection of artifacts has been held in various storage places waiting for suitable premises to become available. The society has been kept alive by a very active committee and regular bimonthly meetings, social evenings and other functions.
After a failed attempt to buy the Old Westbury Town Hall, The Heritage Society then started looking for any site at all that would give us a presence in the town, that is when we discovered that No 1 High Street would be available.
The Visitor Centre is not a museum but a space to display interesting exhibits and exhibitions on Westbury, its history, culture and heritage. It also contains leaflets and information which visitors may find useful.
(Limited) space is available for local artists and competition winners.
We have regular events in the Centre and tickets / information on events in the area.
